FOX scored a big increase for college football on Saturday night.
Saturday’s Oregon/Stanford college football game drew a 1.7 final rating and 2.8 million viewers on FOX, up 31% in ratings and 24% in viewership from Kansas State/TCU last year (1.3, 2.2M) and up 13% and 6%, respectively, from Texas/West Virginia in 2013 (1.5, 2.6M).
Oregon’s upset win ranks as the third-most watched college football game on FOX this season (13 total), trailing only Utah/Oregon in week four (3.0M) and Utah/USC in week eight (3.3M). It is tied as the fourth-highest rated, behind the aforementioned games and TCU/Kansas State in week six (1.8).
Though the game turned in a solid performance by FOX standards, it was no match for Oklahoma/Baylor on ABC (3.8, 5.9M) or Arkansas/LSU on ESPN (2.2, 3.6M).
