MLB and Fox Sports have reached an agreement to stream local games. In other news, ESPN has added Sunday’s Warriors game to its schedule, and Fox Sports is headed to Pearl Harbor for a weekend of programming.
Fox Sports to Begin Live Streaming Local MLB Games
- Fox Sports will begin live streaming local Major League Baseball games next season under a three-year agreement announced Thursday. The deal covers the fifteen teams to which Fox Sports has rights, including the Yankees and last year’s highest rated teams in any market, the Royals and Cardinals. The games will be available via Fox Sports Go in each team’s designated territory. (MLB.com via Sports Business Daily)
ESPN Adds Warriors Game
- ESPN has added Sunday’s Warriors/Nuggets NBA regular season game, in which Golden State will attempt to tie the best start in NBA history. Unlike all other games on ESPN or TNT this season, the national broadcast will be blacked out in the local markets. The last time ESPN added NBA games to its schedule was during the Miami Heat’s 27-game winning streak in 2013. (ESPN Media Zone)
Fox Sports to Air Programming From Pearl Harbor
- Fox Sports programming will originate from Pearl Harbor in Hawaii December 4-7 to commemorate the anniversary of the 1941 attacks. As part of the effort, which was originally announced in April, Fox NFL Sunday and other studio shows will take place on a pier nearby the U.S.S. Missouri and Fox Sports 1 will air a pair of college basketball games — the “FS1 Pearl Harbor Invitational” — from a military base at the site. The weekend also includes a U.S. women’s soccer match from Honolulu. (Fox Sports)
