TNT suffered big declines for Thursday’s NBA doubleheader. In other news, the Golden State Warriors’ winning streak gave NBA TV a Black Friday boost, and the Hornets scored their highest local rating in more than a year.
Big Declines For NBA on TNT
- Thursday’s Thunder/Heat NBA regular season game drew 1.0 million viewers on TNT, down 43% from Cavaliers/Knicks last year (1.8M) and down 30% from Knicks/Nets in 2013 (1.5M). Spurs/Grizzlies had 841,000 later in the night, down 35% from Pelicans/Warriors last year (1.3M), down 60% from Heat/Bulls in 2013 (2.1M), and a season-low. Keep in mind the games faced much tougher competition from Thursday Night Football, which aired on both CBS and NFL Network. (via ShowBuzz Daily)
Warriors’ Streak Boosts NBA TV to Season-High
- NBA TV drew a 0.4 final rating and 648,000 viewers for Warriors/Suns last Friday, up 100% in ratings and 79% in viewership from Clippers/Rockets last year (0.2, 363K) and up a tick and 59%, respectively, from Warriors/Thunder in 2013 (0.3, 407K).
