As should be no surprise, the Cowboys and Packers delivered big numbers for FOX.
The Week 14 Cowboys/Packers NFL national window drew an 18.4 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon, up 6% from coverage featuring Seahawks/Eagles last year (17.4), up 2% from coverage featuring Seahawks/49ers in 2013 (18.1), and the second-highest NFL overnight of the season.
The only game with a higher overnight was Seahawks/Cowboys in Week 8, which also aired on FOX (19.5). Of the five highest rated NFL telecasts in the metered markets, four have aired on FOX and three have featured the Cowboys.
Sunday’s 18.4 overnight is the highest for a regular season Cowboys/Packers matchup since at least 1997 (eight telecasts). The last time they met, Week 15 of the 2013 season, coverage featuring the matchup in 89% of markets drew an 18.1 on FOX.
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Falcons/Panthers in 34% of markets drew a 10.9 overnight — up 14% from coverage featuring Colts/Browns last year (9.6) but down 8% from coverage featuring Lions/Eagles in 2013 (11.8).
