Overnights Drop For College Hoops on CBS
- The LSU/Florida college basketball game had a 0.9 overnight rating on CBS Saturday afternoon, about half of what Kentucky/Texas A&M drew last year, but even with Kentucky/Vanderbilt in a later window two years ago. Ohio State/Indiana had a 0.7 the following day, down a tick from Duke/N.C. State last year (0.8) and but even with Iowa/Ohio State in 2014. (via Sports Business Daily)
Mixed Results For NBA Friday on ESPN
- Friday’s Cavaliers/Timberwolves NBA regular season game scored a 1.1 final rating and 1.7 million viewers on ESPN, up a tick in ratings and 16% in viewership from Bulls/Wizards last year (1.0, 1.5M) but down 31% and 30%, respectively, from Heat/Nets in 2014 (1.6, 2.5M). Thunder/Lakers drew a 1.1 and 1.6 million later in the night, down 15% in ratings and 8% in viewership from Cavaliers/Warriors last year (1.3, 1.8M) and flat and up 8%, respectively, from Lakers/Clippers in ’14 (1.1, 1.5M). All-American Bowl Ties Last Year’s Low
- NBC earned a 0.9 overnight rating for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, even with last year but down 31% from 2014 (1.3). The 0.9 is tied with last year as the lowest for the game since it moved to NBC in 2004. (via Sports Business Daily)
