The PGA Tour Honda Classic scored its third-highest overnight rating in more than a decade.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Honda Classic earned a 2.6 overnight rating on NBC, up 24% from third and final round coverage last year (2.1) but down 19% from 2014 (3.2). The 2.6 is the third-highest for the event since 2005 (2.7), trailing only 2014 and 2012 (3.2 both years).
The Honda Classic ranks as just the second tournament this season to score an increase in final round overnights, with the caveat that last year’s coverage was affected by rain. The Pebble Beach Pro-Am scored a 31% increase two weeks earlier.
Third round action the previous day earned a 1.7 overnight, down 11% from 2014 (1.9). Last year’s Saturday coverage was rained out, earning a 0.9 overnight.
