NBC Nears NHL Season-Low
- Last Sunday’s Penguins/Rangers NHL regular season game scored a 0.8 final rating and 1.1 million viewers on NBC, flat in ratings and down 15% in viewership from Red Wings/Penguins last year (0.8, 1.3M) but up a tick and 3%, respectively, from Flyers/Penguins in 2014 (1.10M to 1.07M). The Penguins’ win earned the second-smallest audience of the season on NBC, ahead of only Penguins/Sabres on Hockey Day in America (1.0M). (via Sports Business Daily)
Flyers/Blackhawks Down, But Strong, on NBCSN
- Flyers/Blackhawks earned 730,000 viewers on NBCSN Wednesday, down 7% from Blackhawks/Rangers last year (787K) but up 43% from Bruins/Canadiens in 2014 (511K). It was the network’s third straight Wednesday night game to top 700,000 viewers. The previous night, Red Wings/Flyers had 149,000 viewers (-62%) and Bruins/Sharks 163,000. More Declines For NASCAR Xfinity Series
- NASCAR Xfinity Series racing from Phoenix scored a 1.2 final rating and 1.8 million viewers on FOX last Saturday, down 25% in ratings and 28% in viewership from last year (1.6, 2.5M). All four Xfinity Series races this season have had a decline in viewership. (via SBD)
