IndyCar Detroit Races Up From Last Year
- The second race of IndyCar’s annual Detroit doubleheader had a 0.9 final rating and 1.4 million viewers on ABC last Sunday afternoon, up a tick in ratings and 20% in viewership from last year (0.8, 1.2M) and up 50% and 57%, respectively, from 2014 (0.6, 891K). The previous day’s race had a 0.7 and 1.0 million — up a tick in ratings and 20% in viewership from last year (0.6, 845K) and down a tick and 17%, respectively, from 2014 (0.8, 1.2M). Shortened Pocono Race Hits Xfinity Series Low
- Rain-shortened NASCAR Xfinity Series racing from Pocono had a 1.0 final rating and 1.4 million viewers on FOX last Saturday, marking the series’ lowest rated and least-watched race on a broadcast network since at least 2008. The race was halted little more than halfway through. As it was the first Xfinity Series race from Pocono, there was no comparable race last year. (via Sports Business Daily)
Smaller Numbers For PBC on Spike
- Coverage of the Premier Boxing Champions on Spike TV earned 468,000 viewers last Friday night, down 9% from the network’s previous telecast in April (513K) and the network’s least-watched PBC card since November (466K).
