In an NFL opening weekend of lows and near-lows, CBS was no exception.
The Week 1 NFL singleheader window earned a 10.2 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, down 13% from last year on FOX (11.7), down 9% from 2014 on CBS (11.2) and the lowest overnight for the season-opening singleheader since 2009 (8.2).
The singleheader was not alone in hitting a seven-year low, as Sunday Night Football also posted its lowest Week 1 overnight since 2009. In addition, both the NFL national window on FOX and NFL Kickoff Game on NBC were the second-lowest rated over that span.
Sunday’s telecast was the lowest rated of the five Week 1 windows on broadcast, behind the early doubleheader game on FOX (10.8).
