From the department of redundancy department, NFL ratings keep dropping.
The Week 7 NFL singleheader window, featuring Vikings/Eagles in 46% of markets, had a 10.1 final rating and 16.9 million viewers on FOX Sunday afternoon — down 13% in ratings and 12% in viewership from last year (11.6, 19.2M) but up 10% in both measures from 2014 (9.2, 15.4M), both of which aired on CBS.
Sunday’s telecast was the fifth of the past six on FOX to post a decline from last year, a marked turnaround from the four straight increases the network posted to start the season.
FOX is far from alone in posting declines this season, as the NFL has been mired in a much-discussed slump. Through Week 7, 37 of the 46 NFL telecast windows have declined in ratings and/or viewership.
