A top ten double-overtime matchup delivered good numbers for CBS.
Tennessee/Texas A&M delivered a 3.9 final rating and 6.6 million viewers on the SEC on CBS last weekend, up 30% in ratings and 34% in viewership from Georgia/Tennessee last year (3.0, 4.9M) and up 5% and 11%, respectively, from Alabama/Mississippi in 2014 (3.7, 5.9M).
The Aggies’ double-overtime win was the highest rated and most-watched college football game of week six, comfortably ahead of second-place Florida State/Miami on ABC’s Saturday Night Football (3.2, 5.5M). An SEC team has played in the week’s top game four times in six weeks this season, including three times for Tennessee alone.
For the season, Saturday’s game earned the ninth-highest rating and eighth-largest audience on any network.
