Schefter to Work NBA Games in New Deal
- ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, whose contract was to expire next year, will remain with the network under a five-year extension according to Sports Illustrated. Schefter will continue to serve primarily as an insider for ESPN’s NFL coverage, but also add a handful of new roles — including sideline reporting on a number of NBA regular season games. According to the report, Schefter has become a fan of the NBA in recent years and views it as “an assignment where it will be 100 percent fun.” He will also work the sidelines on ESPN’s NFL Wild Card Game in January and begin hosting a podcast the same month. WNBA’s Parker to Appear on TNT Studio Show
- Reigning WNBA Finals MVP Candace Parker will appear on TNT’s NBA studio coverage December 8 as part of the new Area 21 segment hosted by Kevin Garnett. Parker, who last year began working as a college basketball analyst for SEC Network, will be just the third WNBA player to appear on TNT’s NBA show — joining Lisa Leslie and Cheryl Miller. Fox Sports Brazil Employees Lose Lives in Chapecoense Crash
- Six Fox Sports Brazil employees, including on-air broadcasters Deva Pascovicci, Mario Sergio Paiva, Victorino Chermont and Paulo Julio Clement, were among the more than 70 killed Monday in a Colombia plane crash that claimed the lives of most of the Chapecoense soccer club.
