Confederations Cup Semis Down on FS1, FS2
- The Chile-Portugal FIFA Confederations Cup semifinal had 480,000 viewers on Fox Sports 1 Wednesday afternoon and Germany-Mexico pulled 245,000 on Fox Sports 2 the following day — down 22% and 72% respectively from the comparable 2013 matches on ESPN, Brazil-Uruguay (618K) and Spain-Italy (863K). On Telemundo, Chile-Portugal had 1.3 million and Germany-Mexico 2.2 million. Figures for the 2013 matches on Univision were not available. The tournament is averaging 1.1 million on Telemundo entering Sunday’s final.
NASCAR Xfinity Series Hits Season-Low at Iowa
- NASCAR Xfinity Series racing from Iowa earned a 0.6 final rating and 983,000 viewers on Fox Sports 1 last Saturday night, down a third in ratings and 29% in viewership from last year (0.9, 1.4M) and down 28% and 21% respectively from 2015 (0.8, 1.2M). It was the lowest rated and least-watched Xfinity Series race this season.
Drone Racing League Beats F1, IndyCar in A18-49
- Coverage of the Drone Racing League posted 301,000 viewers on ESPN last Saturday afternoon, including 169,000 in the adults 18-49 demographic. In the demo, it topped the following day’s Formula 1 (164K) and IndyCar Series (110K) races on NBCSN.
