A snoozer rematch of a forgettable NFC Championship Game delivered mediocre numbers on NBC.
Packers-Falcons earned an 11.3 rating and 20.2 million viewers on the Week 2 edition of NBC’s Sunday Night Football, down 11% in ratings and viewership from Packers-Vikings last year (12.7, 22.8M) and down 25% and 23% respectively from Seahawks-Packers in 2015 (15.1, 26.4M).
The Falcons’ easy win was the lowest rated and least-watched Week 2 edition of SNF since Steelers-Browns in 2008 (10.8, 17.8M).
Milwaukee was Sunday’s top market with a 41.6 rating, down 11% from the Packers’ much-closer defeat last year (46.6) and down 21% from Green Bay’s win two years ago (52.5). Atlanta ranked second with a 25.0, with Minneapolis-St. Paul the top neutral market at an 18.4. Norfolk, Va. (17.3) and New Orleans (16.9) rounded out the top five.
SNF scored a 7.1 rating in adults 18-49, down 13% from last year (8.2) and down 27% from 2015 (9.7).
