NFL Network concluded a strong regular season with another increase last week.
The Week 16 Texans/Colts Thursday Night Football game earned a 2.8 U.S. rating and 4.583 million viewers on NFL Network last week, up 17% in ratings and 4% in viewership from Week 16 last year (CAR/PIT: 2.4, 4.394M). There was no Week 16 Thursday night game in 2009.
Though up from last year, the telecast was the second-lowest rated and second-least viewed NFL telecast of the season on any network.
For the season, NFL Network averaged 6.2 million viewers for NFL coverage, up 8% from last year (5.7M), and the highest average since the network began televising regular season games in the 2006-07 season.
Of the seven NFL Network telecasts that can be compared to last year, six had increases in both ratings and viewership.
