Far removed from the dark days of last fall, NASCAR ratings continue to impress on FOX.
The UAW-Dodge 400 drew a 6.2/12 overnight on FOX, up 13% from last year, when the race aired on the final day of the college basketball season. The 6.2 rating was easily the highest of the weekend, even dominating the impressive numbers for Mavericks/Lakers by 82%.
The primetime portion of the race drew 12.5 million viewers from 7:00 PM ET to 8:30, and was not only the most watched program of the night on FOX, but the third most watched program on all of television — behind only Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Oprah’s Big Give on ABC.
Last week, the prime-time portion of the rain-soaked Auto Club 500 drew over 10.9 million viewers, helping the race tie as the #14 most watched program of the entire week. How long before Sunday Night NASCAR?
