The waterlogged 2012 Daytona 500 has been postponed again and is now slated for primetime.
NASCAR announced Monday that the Daytona 500 has been moved from 12 PM ET to 7 PM ET Monday night. The race will still air on FOX.
In addition to the first-ever Monday Daytona 500, this will be the first time the race has ever started in primetime.
NASCAR and FOX figure to benefit from the move. Had the race aired at 12 PM on Monday, when many viewers are at work, ratings would have surely been quite poor relative to previous years. In primetime, the race should earn numbers on par with previous years — if not even better.
