- While three of the four Elite Eight games were down in the ratings, the one game to improve upon last year’s numbers may have made up for the declines. The 8.7 for Kansas’ win over Davidson marks a 19% jump over the comparable North Carolina/Georgetown game last year.
- Opposite March Madness, the NBA on ABC put up another decent rating. The 1.8 for the Spurs’ blow-out victory over the Rockets marks a 40% drop from the 3.0 for the Mavericks/Suns game on the comparable date last year. Keep in mind last year’s Mavs/Suns game did not air opposite NCAA Tournament games. Compared to the game ABC aired opposite the Regional Finals last year, the 1.8 overnight marks a 50% increase.
