Though up only slightly from last year, final round coverage of The Players Championship hit a three-year high in the ratings.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour The Players Championship drew a 3.2 final rating on NBC last Sunday afternoon, up a tick in ratings from last year (3.1), and up 7% from 2010 (3.0)
The 3.2 rating is the highest for final round coverage of the event since 2009 (3.6).
Excluding The Masters, the 3.2 is also the highest for any PGA Tour telecast on broadcast since Tiger Woods‘ victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March.
On Saturday, third round action drew a 2.3 final rating — up 64% from rain-delayed coverage last year (1.4), and even with 2010 (2.3).
