The first of eight primetime Major League Baseball telecasts on FOX this season was down double-digits from last year.
Regional Major League Baseball action featuring Red Sox/Phillies in 39% of markets drew a 2.4 overnight rating on FOX Saturday night, down 20% from primetime coverage featuring Red Sox/Yankees last year (3.0), and down 33% from primetime coverage featuring Yankees/Mets in 2010 (3.6).
The 2.4 overnight is the lowest ever for a primetime regular season Major League Baseball telecast on FOX (eight telecasts).
Saturday’s telecast ranks as the third-highest rated of the season on FOX in the metered markets (seven telecasts), trailing afternoon coverage on April 14 (Angels/Yankees) and April 21 (Yankees/Red Sox; Humber perfect game).
