- Magic Johnson and Bill Russell: The two NBA legends will appear on ABC’s coverage of the Celtics/Lakers NBA Finals. Johnson, a TNT analyst, will be part of the ABC studio team for Game 1 on Thursday. Russell, who worked as an NBA analyst for both ABC and CBS in the past, will appear prior to Game 2.
- Bill Walton: The ESPN/ABC NBA analyst made his first appearance on national television in months Tuesday night, appearing on a SportsCenter special about the 1987 NBA Finals. Walton, who played for the ’87 Celtics, was interviewed via satellite by host Matt Winer.
- Josh Elliot: The ESPN anchor will be the co-host of the mid-morning edition of SportsCenter this August. Elliot will join high-profile ESPN acquisition Hannah Storm in hosting the three-hour 9 AM-12 PM show.
