When the Associated Press gets something wrong, everybody ends up getting it wrong.
An Associated Press article incorrectly stated that the 10.7 rating for Game 6 of the NBA Finals was the best for an NBA Finals game in eight years. In actuality, the rating was the best for a Game 6 in eight years, not the best overall.
Unfortunately, because so many media outlets use Associated Press articles, that factual inaccuracy can now be found on several major websites, including ESPN.com and Yahoo.com.
Game 6 did draw the best rating for an NBA Finals game since Game 7 between the Spurs and Pistons drew an 11.9 in 2005.
