Baseball on FOX had a rough outing in the overnight ratings Saturday.
Regional Major League Baseball action featuring Rangers/Angels in 64% of markets drew a 1.8 overnight rating on FOX Saturday afternoon, down 18% from coverage featuring Red Sox/Rays in week sixteen of last season (2.2), but up a tick from coverage featuring Mets/Dodgers in week sixteen of the 2010 season (1.7).
The 1.8 overnight is the lowest for a Major League Baseball telecast on FOX since May 12 (1.7), the week before the network began a run of eight straight primetime telecasts.
Final Ratings Off Slightly For Return to Afternoon: One week earlier, regional action featuring Mets/Braves in 46% of markets drew a 1.8 final rating — down a tick from coverage featuring Braves/Phillies last year (1.9), but even with coverage featuring Rays/Yankees in 2010 (1.8).
The telecast was the first afternoon MLB window on FOX since the aforementioned May 12 telecast.
