- Bob Papa: The New York Giants radio voice has been officially named the new play-by-play man for NFL broadcasts on the NFL Network. Papa, who has been with the Giants since 1995, may also be familiar to some NFL Network viewers, as he was the voice of NFL Europa telecasts on the network. Papa replaces Bryant Gumbel.
- Mike Breen and Doug Collins: The voice of the NBA Finals on ABC will join TNT’s top NBA analyst on the lead team for NBC’s basketball coverage at the upcoming Beijing Olympics. Breen and Collins worked together during the 2004 Olympics, and are both veterans of the NBA on NBC.
- Billy Packer: The former CBS college basketball analyst is leaving television entirely. Packer will not “do any more ACC games on Raycom telecasts, or consider a deal with another network.” Packer explains, “In the history of nationally televised basketball, I’ve done probably 90 percent of the great games, so I don’t want to be going to do games of a different status, so I have no interest in that.”
