With the caveat that last year’s game aired on the lowest rated night of the week, Game 6 of the National League Championship Series carved out a slight bump in the overnights.
Game 6 of the Cardinals/Giants National League Championship Series drew a 5.5 overnight rating on FOX Sunday night, up 6% from Tigers/Rangers Game 6 last year (5.2). Overnight ratings were not available for Giants/Phillies Game 6 last year, but the final rating was an impressive 6.7.
The comparable games last year and in 2010 aired on a Saturday night.
The 5.5 for Game 6 stands as the highest of the series, topping a 5.1 for Friday’s Game 5. The four previous games drew overnights of 4.7 (Game 1), 4.3 (Game 2), 3.1 (Game 3) and 4.2 (Game 4).
Game 6 earned the top overnight of the weekend for any non-NFL sporting event.
