Ratings dropped for both games of last week’s NFL doubleheader on CBS.
The Week 7 NFL national window, featuring Jets/Patriots, earned a 14.0 final rating and 23.0 million viewers on CBS last Sunday afternoon — down 4% in ratings and 5% in viewership from coverage featuring Packers/Vikings on FOX last year (14.6, 24.267M), but up 7% and 5%, respectively, from coverage featuring Patriots/Chargers in 2010 (13.1, 21.918M).
The telecast ranks right in the middle of the pack among the seven NFL national windows this season.
Though down from last year, Jets/Patriots was the top NFL telecast of Week 7.
Earlier Sunday, CBS earned an extremely low 5.2 final rating for regional NFL action — down 37% from coverage featuring Falcons/Lions last year (8.2), and down 45% from regional action on CBS in 2010 (9.4).
Excluding games on NFL Network, the 5.2 is the lowest of the season for an NFL telecast.
The 5.2 is also the lowest for any NFL telecast on broadcast since regional action on FOX in Week 17 last year (4.5).
Final ratings were not immediately available for last week’s NFL singleheader window on FOX.
