- Mike Fratello: The TNT NBA analyst will be joining longtime partner Marv Albert on YES Network’s New Jersey Nets telecasts this year. Fratello replaces Mark Jackson, who abruptly left YES last season.
- John McCain: The Republican senator from Arizona appeared on ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike in the Morning earlier today. McCain says the government should have “as little as possible” role in regulating sports. ESPN says Illinois senator Barack Obama will “appear on the show in the near future.”
- Ron Darling and Buck Martinez: The TBS MLB analysts will join Chip Caray in a three-man booth for coverage of the upcoming American League Championship Series. Darling and Martinez replace Tony Gwynn and Bob Brenly. On the studio side, Ernie Johnson, Cal Ripken Jr., Harold Reynolds and Dennis Eckersley will appear on-site for each game.
