NBC, ESPN and the NFL Network each drew relatively unimpressive numbers during Week 12.
Sunday Night Football, featuring Colts/Chargers, drew a 9.5/15 final rating and 15.2 million viewers on NBC, down 29% and 30% respectively from a 13.4/21 and 21.8 million for last year’s comparable Eagles/Patriots game.
Ratings peaked at an 11.9/22 from 11:15-11:28 PM, as the game came to its dramatic conclusion on a game winning field goal by Adam Vinatieri.
So far this season, NBC is averaging a 10.1 rating for Sunday Night Football, down 3% from a 10.4 through the same point in ’07.
Monday Night Football, a blowout of the Packers by the Saints, drew a 8.6 cable rating and 11.4 million viewers on ESPN, down 13% in ratings and viewership from a 9.9 with 13.1 million for Dolphins/Steelers in ’07.
Through Week 12, ESPN is averaging a 9.0 cable rating and 12.2 million viewers for Monday Night Football, up 6% and 11% from an 8.5 cable rating and 11.0 million through the comparable point in ’07.
Thursday Night Football, featuring the hapless Cincinnati Bengals taking on the Steelers, drew 3.2 million viewers on NFL Network last week, down 18% from 3.9 million for the third NFL Network telecast of last season, a Bears/Washington game in December.
