Next week’s battle between the top two teams in the NBA’s Eastern Conference will not air on ABC. In other news, the new CBS graphics package will soon make its way to the network’s golf coverage, and the Atlanta Braves have ended their relationship with TBS.
ABC Skips Pacers/Heat Clash
- Even though the teams are first and third in the Eastern Conference, respectively, next Sunday’s clash between the Heat and Pacers will not air on ABC. The network will instead carry Celtics/Thunder and Bulls/Lakers that day, with Pacers/Heat airing on NBA TV at 6 PM ET. The Pacers have not played a regular season game on broadcast television since 2006. (ESPN)
CBS Will Use New Graphics on Golf Coverage
- The new CBS Sports graphics package that debuted on Super Bowl Sunday will soon by applied to the network’s golf coverage. In the weeks since the Super Bowl, CBS has continued to use the old graphics package on college basketball and golf telecasts. (Sports Video Group via Awful Announcing)
Braves, Turner, End Relationship
- Atlanta Braves games will no longer air on any Turner Broadcasting outlet after the sides agreed to end their decades-long relationship. The 45 annual Braves games on Turner-owned Peachtree TV will now air on either Fox Sports South or SportSouth. Peachtree TV, formerly the local Atlanta version of TBS, had televised Braves games since 2008. Prior to 2008, Turner aired Braves games nationally on TBS and regionally on Turner South (which was later sold to FOX and became SportSouth).
