FOX to Stream Games Via Mobile/Web Outlet
- In addition to the August launch of Fox Sports 1, FOX announced Tuesday the concurrent debut of Fox Sports GO — a mobile and web outlet that will stream events on FOX, FS1 and the various News Corp.-owned RSNs live. Opening Weekend College Football Schedule Notes
- ESPN will air North Carolina/South Carolina and Mississippi/Vanderbilt as part of an opening night college football doubleheader August 29, the network announced Tuesday. On August 31, the network will air a Virginia Tech/Alabama and TCU/Louisiana State doubleheader, and ABC’s “Saturday Night Football” will televise Georgia/Clemson. Over on Fox Sports 1, opening weekend will include North Dakota State/Kansas State on August 30 in what could be the first college football telecast ever on the network. (ESPN Media Zone, bison.com)
“Catholic 7” Close to Split From Big East
- The “Catholic 7” college basketball schools are likely to finalize a separation agreement with the Big East conference by week’s end, The Associated Press reported Tuesday. As part of the agreement, the schools will receive the rights to the ‘Big East’ name. The seven schools and at least two others are expected to form a new college basketball conference starting next season that will air on Fox Sports 1. (The Associated Press)
