Two teams facing intense media scrutiny in the past few weeks combined to give NBC its highest overnight rating of the season.
The Cowboys’ win over the Giants on Sunday Night Football drew a 15.4 overnight on NBC last night, up 39% from an 11.1 for the Washington/Giants game on the comparable date last year. The 15.4 overnight is the best for a Sunday night game this year.
Additionally, the 15.4 overnight is the second best overnight NBC has ever drawn for a Sunday Night Football telecast, behind only a 15.6 for Eagles/Patriots in 2007.
The game drew a 39.0 rating in Dallas and an 18.9 in New York.
For only the second time this season, NBC’s Sunday Night Football telecast drew the highest overnight rating of the weekend, edging the late national game on CBS.
