Though it could be argued that the content needs an overhaul more than the packaging, ESPN is prepping a brand new look for “SportsCenter.”
ESPN will preview new sets and graphics for “SportsCenter” during its upfront presentation next month, Sports Illustrated reported Monday. An anonymous anchor described the new look as “impressive and intimidating … nothing like the current SportsCenter.”
The new look will likely coincide with the launch of ESPN’s new Digital Center 2 building. Located on ESPN’s Bristol (CT) campus, the new building will serve as the new home of “SportsCenter” starting February of next year.
ESPN has not updated graphics for “SportsCenter” since 2009, and the Bristol (CT) editions have used the same set since 2004.
