The SEC Championship Game drew solid numbers in its return to broadcast after a one-year hiatus.
Tennessee/Mississippi State drew a 2.1/5 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, flat with the Florida and Arkansas in 2007, the last time the SEC Championship Game aired on broadcast.
Last year’s game aired on ESPN2 after a tornado forced games to be rescheduled.
The 2.1 overnight is tied as the third-best for the SEC Championship Game since 2001. Next year’s SEC title game will air on ABC as part of the new SEC television contract.
