ESPN has debuted a new look for its flagship show.
SportsCenter unveiled new animation and new graphics on Monday, to coincide with the start of the new L.A. based edition of the program.
The new fonts and graphics are very similar to those currently used on ESPNews, with some deviations. The BottomLine was also redesigned with a sleeker look. ESPN released screenshots of the new graphics over the weekend.
Currently, the new graphics are limited to SportsCenter only, as ESPN’s other studio shows and live programming continue to use previous graphics. The only exception is the redesigned BottomLine, which will be used across all programming and ESPN networks. An ESPN spokesman says that eventually the new graphics will be “incorporated on a wider scale.”
The unveiling was not without flaws. During one extended period late Monday evening, the Bottomline reverted to its previous look.
