The Clippers/Thunder series attracted another strong audience on TNT.
Game 5 of the Clippers/Thunder second round NBA playoff series drew 6.3 million viewers on TNT Tuesday night, up 17% from Warriors/Spurs last year (5.3M) and the most-watched game of the playoffs on cable. The previous high was 6.2 million for Game 2 of the series last Wednesday.
The Clippers and/or Thunder have played in five of the six most-watched playoff games on cable this year, the lone exception being Monday’s Heat/Nets Game 4 (5.5M). Overall, ten of the top eleven games on cable have involved Western Conference teams.
Clippers/Thunder Game 5 was the highest rated program of the night among adults 18-49, topping every show on broadcast TV.
Earlier in the night, Wizards/Pacers Game 5 earned 3.5 million viewers — down 14% from Knicks/Pacers last year (4.1M) and down 36% from Pacers/Heat in 2012 (5.5M). Other than Game 4, which earned a healthy 4.5 million viewers on Sunday night, every game of Wizards/Pacers has failed to draw at least four million viewers.
