Though still relatively low for the NBA Finals, Tuesday’s Game 3 managed an increase in overnight ratings over last year.
Game 3 of the Spurs/Heat NBA Finals earned a 10.3 overnight rating on ABC Tuesday night, up 3% from the same match-up last year (10.0) but down a tick from Thunder/Heat opposite the U.S. Open in 2012 (10.4).
Tuesday’s game ranks as the first of the series to have an increase in overnights over last year. Overnights for down for Game 1 and flat for Game 2, though both games ended up with increases in the final tally.
Locally, Game 3 earned a 30.9 rating in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale — up 9% from last year (28.4) and up 4% from 2012 (29.6). The game earned a 40.5 in San Antonio, up 8% from last year (37.5) but down 7% from Spurs/Cavaliers in 2007 (43.3).
