With Tiger Woods missing the cut in his return from injury, the PGA Tour did not get much of a boost over the weekend.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour at Congressional earned a 1.8 overnight rating on CBS Sunday, up 13% from last year (1.6) but down 61% from Woods’ 2012 victory (4.6). The 1.8 ranks fourth out of the eight final round telecasts since the tournament began in 2007, with only the inaugural event and Woods’ two victories topping the 2.0 mark.
On Saturday, third round action earned a 1.2 overnight — up a tick from last year (1.1) but down 46% from 2012 (2.2).
Keep in mind this year’s tournament faced competition from the World Cup.
