  • Bill Parcells: Has joined ESPN for the upcoming NFL season. The former Dallas Cowboys coach will appear on Monday Night Countdown, and will write columns for ESPN.com.
  • Bonnie Bernstein: Could have died last fall from the same condition that killed NBC reporter David Bloom. After a college football game, Bernstein ended up in the hospital with life threatening blood clots that caused severe?swelling.
  • Jon Bon Jovi: Will give the Arena Football League the Pussycat Dolls treatment; Bon Jovi will perform “We Got it Goin’ On” with Big n’ Rich before every AFL telecast on the ESPN family of networks.

Last weekend’s rain-delayed NASCAR Cup Series race from Atlanta averaged a 0.8 rating and 1.47 million viewers on TNT Sports, per the official Nielsen “Big Data + Panel” methodology, and a 0.9 and 1.57 million per the old ‘panel-only’ metric NASCAR is now publicizing — both down from last year’s race at the track, which was not as severely delayed (1.61M).
