The UFC on FOX tied its lowest overnight rating on Saturday. In other news, NASCAR’s Brickyard 400 saw a second-straight increase in Indianapolis, and the PGA Tour Canadian Open was mostly on par with last year.
UFC on FOX Ties Lowest Overnight Rating
- The latest edition of the UFC on FOX earned a 1.6 overnight rating on Saturday night, even with the most recent telecast in April and last year’s comparable July telecast (1.6). The 1.6 is tied as the network’s lowest overnight ever for UFC coverage (12 telecasts dating back to 2011). Four of the last five UFC on FOX windows have failed to hit the 2.0 mark.
Brickyard 400 Ratings Rise in Indianapolis
- Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Brickyard 400 earned a 15.0 rating on ESPN in the Indianapolis market, up 9% from last year (13.8) and up 38% from the 2012 race, which aired opposite the Olympic Games (10.9). By comparison, the IndyCar Indianapolis 500 drew a 12.9 in the market, albeit on tape delay. Nationally, the Brickyard 400 drew a 3.2 overnight rating — down 6% from last year (3.4) but up 7% from 2012 (3.0).
PGA Canadian Open Down on Saturday, Flat on Sunday
- Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Canadian Open earned a 1.8 overnight rating on CBS Sunday, even with last year (1.8) and up 125% from coverage that aired opposite the Olympics in 2012 (0.8). Third round action on Saturday had a 1.1 overnight — down 15% from last year (1.3) but up 83% from 2012 (0.6).
