Sports dominated the television ratings last week.
The last three games of the NBA Finals on ABC accounted for the three highest rated, most-viewed programs of the week on broadcast, with Game 4 of the Lakers/Magic series taking the top spot (9.4/17 rating, 16.0 million viewers). Game 3 finished second for the week (8.6/15, 14.2 mil), followed by the clinching Game 5 (8.0/14, 14.2 mil).
Rounding out the NBA presence was the NBA Finals Trophy Presentation, which drew a 7.5/13 and 13.5 million viewers — the fifth-highest rated and fourth-most viewed program of the week.
Currently, the five games of the NBA Finals rank as the five most-viewed programs of the month of June.
Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals finished as the #17 most-watched program of the week (4.3/8 rating, 8 million viewers), behind nine re-runs and three reality shows, but a very impressive showing for an NHL telecast.
Penguins/Red Wings Game 7 was NBC’s most-watched program of the week, with Game 6 finishing third. Including the Game 7 pre-game show, the Stanley Cup Finals made up three of NBC’s six-highest rated programs last week.
In the key adults 18-49 demo, Lakers/Magic took up the top four spots, with a 6.4 for Game 4, a 5.9 for Game 3, a 5.7 for Game 5 and a 5.5 for the Trophy Presentation. Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals finished #5, with a 3.4.
Elsewhere, NASCAR’s LifeLock 400 on TNT finished as the sixth-most viewed cable program of the week — and the Postrace Show finished fourth.
