Sunday Night Football scored solid, though unspectacular numbers for Broncos/Chiefs.
The Week 13 Broncos/Chiefs Sunday Night Football game drew a 13.2 overnight rating on NBC, up 9% from Giants/Washington last year (12.1) and down 2% from Eagles/Cowboys in 2012 (13.5). The Broncos’ win was the first SNF telecast in nearly a month to have an increase in overnights, since Ravens/Steelers eked out a 4% bump in Week 9.
Broncos/Chiefs was not nearly as strong a draw as last season. The teams entered a Week 11 SNF showdown a combined 15-1, with Denver toppling Kansas City from the ranks of the unbeaten. NBC earned a 16.6 overnight for that game, one of the best ever for Sunday Night Football. Given Kansas City’s more modest 7-4 record this year, it is no surprise interest was lower.
For the day, SNF ranked a distant second behind the Patriots/Packers NFL national window on CBS (19.2). With the Thanksgiving games included, the game earned the week’s fourth-highest NFL overnight.
