With some of the highest-profile NFC teams having already played on Thanksgiving, FOX earned its lowest overnight of the season for the NFL singleheader.
The Week 13 NFL singleheader window, featuring Saints/Steelers in 46% of markets, drew a 10.2 overnight rating on FOX — down 6% from coverage featuring Rams/49ers last year (10.8) and down 24% from coverage featuring Packers/Vikings in 2012 (13.5).
The 10.2 is the lowest of the season for the NFL singleheader on FOX (seven telecasts). None of the previous six windows dipped below a 12.0. Overall, the 10.2 is the second-lowest for the singleheader regardless of network, ahead of only Week 4 action on CBS (8.2).
The all-NFC Thanksgiving tripleheader left FOX with a weak slate. Each of the network’s five games featured a sub-.500 team, with 71% of the country receiving either the Saints or the Falcons — teams that entered Sunday with identical 4-7 records. Sunday’s best game involving an NFC team, Patriots/Packers, aired on CBS and generated a whopping 19.2 overnight.
