- Viewership is steadily increasing for the English Premier League on ESPN2. Last Saturday morning’s Wigan Athletic/Manchester United tilt drew a 0.3 U.S. rating and 375,000 viewers. Two days later, a Liverpool/Aston Villa match drew a 0.3 and 398,000 viewers. Both games easily outpaced the 0.1 and 164,000 viewers ESPN2 drew for its debut EPL telecast.
- The final day of the LPGA Solheim Cup drew a 0.9 rating on The Golf Channel last Sunday, up 200% from a 0.3 in ’07, and up 50% from a 0.6 in ’05. Coverage drew 956,000 viewers, marking the second most-viewers of the year for a women’s golf telecast on broadcast or cable.
- The second episode of Shaq Vs. drew a 2.6/4 final rating and 4.1 million viewers, down 4% in ratings and 2% in viewers from a 2.7/4 and 4.2 million for the debut telecast a week earlier. The second half-hour of the show averaged a 2.8 rating, compared a 2.3 rating for the first half-hour.
