- The Little League World Series got off to a solid start on ABC. Last Saturday’s Warner Robbins/Staten Island game drew a 1.1/3 rating, up 120% from a 0.5/1 for the comparable game last year, and even with ’07. Meanwhile, Sunday’s Russellville/San Antonio game drew a 0.8/2, up 33% from a 0.6/2 last year, but down 50% from a 1.6/4 for the comparable game in ’07. Overall, ABC’s two games averaged a 1.0 rating, up 67% from last year, but down 29% from ’07.
- NBC’s coverage of the World Track & Field Championships drew a 1.1/3 rating on Saturday and a 1.2/3 on Sunday, up 10% and down 8%, respectively, from the comparable dates in ’07. Overall, NBC averaged a 1.1 rating and 1.5 million viewers for four telecasts, down 15% in ratings and 12% in viewers form a 1.3 and 1.7 million for three telecasts in ’07.
- Sunday’s Federer/Djokovic men’s final at the ATP Western & Southern Financial Group Masters drew a 0.7/2 final rating, down 22% from a 0.9/2 for Federer/Blake in ’07. Coverage of the event aired on ESPN2 last year.
