Vitale Again Left Off Duke/UNC Game
- ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale has not been assigned the March 7 Duke/North Carolina game, the second time this season that he has been held out of the rivalry game. As was the case earlier in the season, Jay Bilas will serve as the analyst alongside play-by-play voice Dan Shulman. Prior to this year, Vitale called every ESPN-produced regular season game between the rivals. (ESPN Media Zone via Sporting News)
Son of ESPN Writer Maisel Missing
- The 21-year-old son of ESPN.com college football writer Ivan Maisel remains missing, nearly a week after his disappearance. Max Maisel was last seen near a pier in upstate New York, where his family has a vacation home. In a statement earlier this week, ESPN said its “thoughts are with the Maisel family as they face this heartbreaking and emotional situation. Ivan is a caring and respected member of the ESPN family and we are hopeful that more information comes to light and good news lies ahead.” (USA Today, democratandchronicle.com)
