Despite leaving the highest rated cable channel, ratings have increased for the U.S. Open.
Coverage of the 2009 U.S. Open is averaging a 0.6 U.S. rating (658,000 households) on ESPN2, up 20% from a 0.5 (584,000 households) on USA Network through the same point last year. In primetime, the tournament is averaging a 0.8 U.S. rating (918,000), up 33% from a 0.6 (680,000) last year.
Versus comparable programming on ESPN2 last year, coverage of the U.S. Open is up 125% during daytime coverage (1-6 PM ET) and a whopping 175% in primetime (7-11 PM ET).
