Brett Favre‘s return to Green Bay will be the featured attraction on FOX November 1.
The NFL has announced that the November 1 Vikings/Packers game, originally scheduled for 1 PM ET, has been moved to the 4:15 PM ET window. As a result, the Giants/Eagles game that was supposed to air at 4:15 has been moved back to 1 PM.
Via Twitter, an NFL spokesman said that the move was done to avoid a potential conflict between the Eagles and the defending MLB champion Phillies — who could play in a World Series game that night.
However, there is little doubt that the potentially massive audience for Vikings/Packers played at least some role in the move. The first meeting of the season between the teams drew 21.8 million viewers on ESPN, the largest audience in the history of cable TV. The November 1 matchup should do even better, for a variety of reasons — not the least of which is the fact that the game will air on broadcast.
