The PGA Tour continues to deliver year-over-year gains on broadcast.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Memorial Tournament earned a 2.3 final rating and 3.4 million viewers on CBS last Sunday, up 15% in ratings and 16% in viewership from last year (2.0, 2.9M), and fifth straight final round telecast to have an increase.
Overall, 10 of the past 13 final round telecasts to have increased over last year, with nine of those 10 up double-digits in ratings. Six telecasts have hit a multi-year high, with Sunday’s 2.3 rating the highest for the final round of The Memorial in three years — since Tiger Woods‘ 2012 win earned a 3.5.
Going back further, however, the 2.3 is tied for just 12th out of the past 19 final round telecast of the event.
