The SEC, and especially the Florida Gators, continues to attract big numbers on CBS.
Saturday’s Georgia/Florida game drew a 4.8 overnight rating on CBS, up 9% from a 4.4 for last year’s matchup between the same two teams, which took place a week later in the season.
The 4.8 overnight is tied with Arkansas/Florida in October and Tennessee/Florida in September as the second-highest overnight of the season for a college football game on CBS. The top overnight of the season came for a primetime Florida/LSU tilt last month, which drew a 6.8 overnight.
Georgia/Florida drew the highest overnight of the day for a college football game on broadcast — even topping Saturday Night Football on ABC (Oregon/USC and Texas/Oklahoma State) and Washington State/Notre Dame on NBC, both of which aired in primetime.
