FOX drew another strong overnight rating for coverage of the 2009 World Series.
Monday’s Yankees/Phillies Game 5 drew a 12.8 overnight rating on FOX, up 15% from an 11.1 for last year’s Rays/Phillies Game 5–which began on a Monday night, but concluded on a Wednesday night due to rain. The Monday portion last year drew a 9.6 overnight and the Wednesday portion drew a 13.4.
The 12.8 overnight is down from a 15.6 for Game 4 Sunday night, which had an NFL lead-in.
The Phillies win drew a 41.0 in Philadelphia; last year the Monday portion of Game 5 drew a 45.2, and the Wednesday portion drew a 51.8. In New York the game drew a 28.7, up from a 25.5 for Yankees/Marlins Game 5 in ’03.
